A short look at Quaker colonisation
Quakers created the New Jersey colony in the 1670s. Who were they? How did they get the land? How did they rule? These questions will be part of a slide presentation, together with the research done to answer them.
Being more open and honest about Quaker involvement in colonisation and slavery is one way in which we can make reparation. Members of black communities tell us that setting history right makes a difference.
Do join us to learn more. We meet at 12.30pm for a 30-minute Quaker Meeting followed by tea/coffee and biscuits. The discussion follows until 2pm.
